Mr. Maley said he would like to contact another broker if Head -Beckham could not come up with anything by the end of the week. There being no further business on motion of Mr. Beatty, seconded by Mr. Taplin and voted the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 A.M. Attest: r _ (e-/> / Village Clerk May 30, 1978 PUBLIC HEARING June 13, 1978 Mayor The second Public Hearing on the Business District re -zoning was held on Tuesday, June 13, at 9:30 A.M. in the Village Hall. Dr. Wallace of Wallace McHarg Roberts and Todd said the presentations of all the consultants would not be recommendations but tenative findings with their final presentation in mid -July. Dr. Wallace said the purpose of the study and their assignment was to analyze the business district as to visual impact, now and later; pedestrian safety; public vehicular circulation, parking, etc.; air duality; land uses; and impact on adjoining municipalities. Also considered will be the imput at the public hearings. Discussion followed on the present set backs and heights regulations of the main buildings abd parking structure. A summary of existing and recommended business district zoning regulations was given by members of the consultants firm and Mr. Charles Kober. Dr. Wallace explained that they were trying to achieve a formula some where in between what is asked by Bal Harbour Shops and the Protective Association. Petitions were submitted to the Consultants from the Taxpayers Association asking no further expansion be permitted in the Shopping Center. The meeting was recessed for lunch and re -convened at 2:05 P.M. Mr. Keller explained the traffic situation and said the available traffic data was not sufficient to complete their study. It was agreed by the members of of the council present at the hearing the Bal Harbour. Village wouldgive the Con- sultants authority to conduct the additional traffic count, on June 17th. and 18th. with formal action to be taken at the next council meeting. Dr. Wallace said their final draft of recommended change would be ready for presentation at the July council meeting. After further discussion the height of the parking garage the hearing was asjourned at 4:20 p.M. Attest: Village Clerk June 13, 1978 COUNCIL MINUTES June 27, 1978 Mayor The Council of Bal Harbour Village, met Tuesday, June 27, 1978 at 9:30 A.M. in the Village Hall. Present: Messrs. Beatty, Krez, Printup Davis, and Taplin Also present were Fred W. Maley, Village Manager; Mary T. \etterer, Village Clerk; and Alan Gold, Village Attorney. On motion of Mr. Beatty, seconded by Mr. Davis and voted the minutes of the meeting of May 30, 1978 were approved as submitted. On motion of Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Beatty and voted the minutes of the public hearing of May 5, 1978 were approved as submitted. Mr. Maley said that our Comprehensive General Insurance was being cancelled by Consolidated Mutual Insurance Company on July 1st inasmuch as that company would no longer insure governments. He said that Head -Beckham Insurance and one other agent had attempted to secure coverage for the Village the second company was unable to get any bids. A bid has been submitted by the Puritan Insurance Company of Stamford, Conn. for Comprenhensive General Liability, Auto Loability, and non - owned liability in the amount of 136,110. This does not include Police Liability, which would have to be purchased separately of available at a reasonable price. It was moved by Mr. Davis, seconded by Mr. Taplin and voted to purchase the Com- prehensive Insurance from Puritan Insurance Company.
