A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNGL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HER DESIGNEE TO PROCEED WITH
THE NEGOTIATION AND PURCHASE OF A RECONDITIONED FORKLIFT NOT TO
EXCEED $8,500.00
WHEREAS, there is a need to increase fhe loading and unloading capacity of
shipments to and from the City Corporate Yard; and '
WHEREAS, to reduce delays in loading and unloading of the city's shipments ~
the second forklift is needed, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the lifting limit from 3,000 Ibs to 5,000
Ibs; and
WHEREAS, a new 5,000 Ibs capacity forklift will cost in excess of $20,000 00
and recondition ones are available for less than $8,500 00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available at account no 08-4451, because of the
elimination of a mechanic, to cover the cost of purchasing recommended forklift
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows.
Section 1. The City Manager or her designee is authorized to proceed with the
negotiation and purchase of a reconditioned forklift not to exceed $8500 00 with lifting
capacity of 5,000 Ibs.
Section 2. staff is authorized to use funds from account 08-4451 to purchase
said forklift. ,
~ Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption
