Painting of Exterior Trim Work
The Town of Brewster is seeking quotes to prepare and paint all exposed trim on the Brewster Town
Office Building at 2198 Main Street. The building is a wood construction building with composite
"Werzalite" siding and various trim components. No quote is desired to paint the siding, as that material is
in the 19th year of a 25-year warranty. The trim components consist of painted pine, MDO board, molded
polymer and fiberglass reinforced polyester. Different components may require different treatments. All
finishes must be compatible with both the substrata and the total coating system. Quotes are due by
September 20, 2017 at 10am. Potential Bidders are required to visit the location by arrangement with
Tom Thatcher, Building Supervisor at 508-326-5732. This Quote is subject to the recent procurement
changes per the Municipal Modernization Acts of 2016 which are applicable to horizontal and vertical
construction projects valued at $10K - $50K per engagement.
All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including,
but not limited to G.L. c.149, §§44A-44H, as amended.
Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid as determined by the Commissioner
of Labor and Workforce Development and the weekly payroll record submittal requirements under the
provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 through 27D inclusive.
The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the lowest
responsible and eligible bidder. The Town of Brewster reserves the right to accept or reject any or all
responses, to waive any informality contained therein, and to award the contract as decided to be in the
best interest of the Town.
