AUTFiORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $677,995 FROM THE WATER FUND TO
THE GENERAL FUN~ FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF PARK WATER UTILITY

' s VVHEREAS on November 12 1990 the Cit Council
, , , y began annual
'y` approvals of utility users tax exemptions for Lynwood Park Water customers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create greater equity between the
City Water users and Park Water users; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered several alternatives,
including condemnation of the Park Water System; and
WHEREAS, the City Council selected the most effective and efficient
approach for the utility users tax exemptions; and "
WHEREAS, this strategy resulted in benefits to City Water users; and
.VIIHEREASB the cost should have been more properly borne by the City's
Water fund; and .
VVHEREAS9 the City now seeks reimbursement for expenses to the
General Fund; an~
V11HEF2EAS, the City Council has continued to extend the exemption's
each year, thereafter since 1990; and
. VilHE12Ee4S, ~he Ci~y Cou.nci9 desires to reimburse the General fund frorr~
the Water Fund for rebates previously granted. ~
IVOV1/, TFiEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLi/ED, that the City Council of the City
of ~ynwood does hereby find, determine order and resolve as follows:
Sectforr 1. That pursuant to legal review, authorization transferring
~677,995 from the Water Fund to the General Fund is hereby approved.
Section 2. 1"hat the City Manager is authorized and directed to transfer
the funds as noted in Section 1.
Section 3. Thafi the transferred funds be reserved for use of the Senior
Cofiizens Cenfer. ~
Section 4o That ~~his resolution shall fake effect immediately upon its
adoption. ~
