SuperintendehtpCorlj'Ibd called the meeting to order at 4 : 00 p . m . and asked for nominations for Chair of the Policy
Subcommittee . Ann Crozier volunteered to be Chair .
Motion :
On a motion by Betsy Pontius, seconded by Josh Stewart, it was voted unanimously to appoint Ann Crozier as Chair of
the Policy Subcommittee .
Superintendent Conrad indicated that there were several policies to review as recommended by MASC .
Policv JLCD — Administration of Medications to Students - A discussion was held regarding Narcan . It was noted that the
Police carry Narcan and it can be purchased over the counter. Concerns involving Medical Marijuana were also
discussed .
Policv JJF — Student Activitv Accounts
The Superintendent indicated that the new policy specifies what senior class officers need to do with balances in their
student activity accounts . He also indicated that Giovanna Venditti and Jim Nowack had no problem with the new
wording . It was agreed to accept new wording as presented by MASC
Policv JICH — Drue and Alcohol Use by Students
The subcommittee discussed medications vs . drugs, words like controlled substance and unlawful .
The policy was reviewed and a few words replaced .
Policv — GBEC — Drue Free Workplace
After discussion, the subcommittee indicated that the policy should not just apply to people on federal grants and
adjusted the language to indicate that it is meant for everyone . The Superintendent indicated that a Code of Conduct is
needed for staff and they are working on a Code of Contact for Travel for Students and Chaperones . It was suggested
that alcohol be added . The Superintendent indicated he would do some research on that suggestion .
Policv IHAMB — Teachine About Drues . Alcohol . and Tobacco
Teaching About Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco, Policy IHAMB, was adopted with one minor change .
Josh Stewart asked about the status of the Technology Use Agreement for Staff. He indicated that this has been with
the NEA for over two years and he would like to have a policy in place . The Superintendent indicated he would research
this .
On a motion by Sara Blackwell, seconded by Betsy Pontius, it was voted unanimously to approve the minutes of
December 9, 2015 .
On a motion by Josh Stewart, seconded by Sarah Blackwell, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 5 : 07
