Present for the Committee : Betsy Pontius, Ann Crozier, David Telman , Judy Schumacher and Josh Stewart
Call to Order
Chair Crozier called the meeting to order at 5 :00 p . m .
Citizens Sneak — None
Priority Business —
The Committee reviewed minor wording changes, as written by MASC in the following policies :
ACE — NonDiscrimination on the Basis of Handicap
ADC — Tobacco Products on School Premises Prohibited
WE — Procurement Requirements
EFC — Free and Reduced Price Food Services
GBA - Equal Employment Opportunity
GBEA — Staff Ethics/Conflict of Interest
GBED — Tobacco Use on School Property by Staff Members prohibited
GBGB — Staff personal Security and Safety
The Committee had questions about this policy but Supt . Conrad Indicated that sometimes when a
Person is hired, they are required to have a physical even though they had one within the year. The
District would be required to pay for the physical because their Insurance would not pay for two in a
calendar year.

#6 . Change the word physical handicap to physical disability
JICH — Alcohol, Tobacco, and Drug Use by Students Prohibited
The Committee made the first sentence second and the second sentence first to read :
The School Committee prohibits the use or consumption by students of alcohol, tobacco products, or drugs on
school property, at any school function, or at any school sponsored event. A student shall not, regardless of the
quantity, use or consume, possess, buy or sell, or give away any beverage containing alcohol; any tobacco

product, including vapor/ &cigarettes; marijuana, anabolic steroids; or any controlled substance . The committee
added the word anabolic before the word steroid .
KI — Visitors to the Schools
IJNDD — Policy on Social Medial
This policy was held to review the other technology policies with this one and with Barbara Lavoine at
the next Policy Subcommittee meeting on October 18, 2017 at 5 : 00 p . m .
Motion :
On a motion by Josh Stewart, seconded by Betsy Pontius, it was voted unanimously to approve the wording changes in
the policies and hold the policy on Social Media until the next meeting .
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Betsy Pontius, seconded by Dave Telman, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 5 :45 p . m .
