AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTER-LOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX FOR THE PURCHASE
OF VIDEO CONFERENCING EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the County Prosecutor wishes to distribute certain PCLET A Funds to the
Municipality for the purpose of purchasing. video conferencing equipment which will
allow the Municipal Court to process prisoners detained at the County Adult Correction
Center for arraignment and other Municipal Court proceedings without the need to
transport said prisoners back to the Municipality; and
\VHEREAS, pursuant to said program, the County of Middlesex has agreed to provide
the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") a graut in the amount of $6,000.00 to be used solely
for the purpose of purchasing video conferencing equipment which will allow the
Municipal Court to process pIisoners detained at the County Adult Correction Center for
arraigmnent and other Municipal Court proceedings without the need to transport said
prisoners ba?k to the Bo'rollgh; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough finds said grant to be desirable and is willing to accept said
donation pursuant to the tenus and conditions set forth in the attached Inter-Local Grant
Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
ofearteret as follows:
I. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute the
attached Inter-Local Grant Agreement with County of Middlesex on I
behalf of the Borough.
2. That a copy of the executed Grant Agreement be forwarded to the
County of Middlesex as requested.

Conferencing Equipment
Dear Mayor Reiman:
Please find enclosed an original and two (2) copies of an Agreement prepared by this office,
which would allow the Borough to purchase the above captioned equipment.
Please review the terms of the Agreement and, if acceptable, have it executed by the Borough
and return the executed Agreements to this office. Once we receive same, a resolution will be
submitted to the Board of Chosen Freeholders for its approval.

F MIDDLESEX, a municipal corporation of the State of New Jersey, having its
rincipal offices at the County Administration Building, New Brunswick, New Jersey
hereinafter "County") and the Borough of Carteret, having its principal office at 61
ooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey (hereinafter "Municipality")
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the Middlesex County Prosecutor maintains a Prosecutor's
ounty Law Enforcement Trust Account (PCLETA) to be used, inter alia, to upgrade
ocallaw enforcement services; and
WHEREAS, the County Prosecutor wishes to distribute certain PCLETA
unds to the Municipality for the purpose of purchasing video conferencing equipment
hich will allow the Municipal Court to process prisoners detained at the County Adult
orrection Center for arraignment and other Municipal Court proceedings without the

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and
ovenants contained herein, the County and Municipality do mutually agree as follows:
1. The County shall provide a grant in the amount of $6,000.00 to be
sed solely for the purpose of purchasing video conferencing equipment which will '

ransport said prisoners back to the Municipality.
2. Once the purchase is completed, the Municipality shall submit an
itemized statement to the County Prosecutor's Office, together with a County voucher.
Upon review and approval of said statement and voucher, the County Prosecutor's
Office shall submit same for payment in accordance with normal County procedure. If
it is determined by the Prosecutor's Office that any of the expenses are not
appropriate for reimbursement, then the request shall be reduced by said amount.
3. The Municipality shall, at its own sole cost and expense, be
esponsible for all costs associated with upkeep, repair, usage and maintenance of
aid equipment including but not limited to insurance.
4. The Municipality must make all necessary repairs and perform all
ecessary maintenance in order to ensure that the equipment remains operative and
n good working order.
5. The Municipality shall save, protect, indemnify and hold harmless
he County and/or its elected officials, officers and employees from any and all
amages or claims for damages to persons or property which may result from the use,
aintenance or upkeep of any equipment which is purchased or upgraded pursuant to
his Agreement.
6. The parties agree and acknowledge that the County's sole
bligation hereunder is the provision of the grant funds indicated above.
7. This Agreement represents the entire understanding of the
parties. It shall not be amended, except through written amendment approved by the
respective governing bodies.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused this Agreement to be
