HomeMy Public PortalAbout1985-062Member e /�Q""'1 a'I moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution and CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 85- 42 RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE TO ROSS AND SHARON GRONFIELD TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADDITION TO THEIR HOUSE AT 3200 CARRIAGE DRIVE WHEREAS, Ross and Sharon Gronfield ("applicants") have applied for a variance from the provisions of Section 826.25, Subd. 2 of the Medina Zoning Ordinance to construct a room addition and porch on their house; and WHEREAS, the proposed room addition will be located within 44.6 feet of the front lot line and the porch will be located within 47 feet of the front lot line; and WHEREAS, a variance to Section 826.25, Subd. 2 of the Medina Zoning Ordinance may be issued to the applicant because of the unusual configuration of the property due to the curve of the roadway in front of the lot; and WHEREAS, the granting of the variance requested will not confer on the applicant any special privilege that is denied to owners of other lands, the variance will not be materially detrimental to the purposes of the ordinance or neighboring property, and the variance requested is the minimum variance which will alleviate the hardship; and WHEREAS, the applicant appeared at public hearings before the Medina Planning Commission on June 11, 1985, and before the Medina City Council on July 2, 1985. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that a variance from the provisions of Section 826.25, Subd. 2 of the Medina Zoning Ordinance is hereby granted as requested, subject to the following terms and conditions: 1. Said addition shall be constructed in accordance with plans submitted to the City of Medina and attached hereto as Exhibit A on property legally described as Lot 8, Block 2, Hunter Farms, according to the plat thereof on file or of record in Hennepin County, Minnesota. 2. The variance shall expire if the room addition and porch requested by the variance have not been completed within one year after the date of this resolution. 3. The applicant shall comply with all other provisions of the Medina Zoning Ordinance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina that the violation of any of the foregoing conditions is declared to be a violation of the Medina Zoning Ordinance.
