. A RESOLUTION Of THE CITY CDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNW(OOD
FORMALLY RECOGNIZING THE SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD AS
~ ~' A VbLUNTEER ADVISORY BODY RATHER THAN A COMMISSION TO THE
, CITY COUNCiL AND THE RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES
~ DEPARTMENT CONCERNED WITH ADDRESStNG ISSUES FACING SENIOR
' 't CITIZENS IN OUR COMMUNITY
~~ ~ WHEREAS,~ in order to provide the highest quality programs,
services and activities for senior citizens the City of Lynwood needs input from .
' ~ fhe local community; and , '
~~ WHEREAS, the Senior Citizen Advisory Board is designed to be
`~._ .
made up of.thirteen (13) active and dedicated residents of the City of Lynwood;
- and ~ '
~ WHEREAS, this Board has provided dedicated advisory input to
- the City of Lynwood through the~Recreation & Community Services Department
' , for many years; and
' WHEREAS, this Board has provided input on programs, services
and activities des.igned to improve the quality of life for senior citizens in the City
of Lynwood; and ,

~ WHEREAS, this Board has formally adopted a"Mission Statement''
° along with "By-Laws"; and
' ~ WHEREAS, the formal recognition by the governing body of the
` City of Lynwood providing the Senior Citizens Advisory Board with the authority
to perform their designated function is essential.
° ` NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY TH€ CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
~~ " Section 1. The City Council acknowledges that the Senior
,
- ~ Citizens.Advisory Board is the designated advisory ,
~ ~ ~ body to the City of Lynwood relative to senior~citizens
. . issues. ~
Section 2. The City Council directs the Recreation & Community
~ Services Departmenf to work with the Senior Citizens
. ~ Advisory Board in a liaison capacity.
. Section 3. This resolution sha11 go into effect immediately upon
' its adoption. ~ ~
