A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO USE CONSULTANT SERVICES
ABOVE THE $5~00 LIMIT RESTRICTIONS BUT NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 UN
A SINGLE PROJECT BASIS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AGREEMEl~TT TO SECURE THE SERVICES '~
~ WHEREAS, chapter 6-3 11 requires purchases of supplies, equipment and
~~ services over $5,000 to require a formal bid and authorization from the City Council; and
WHEREAS, chapter 6-3.13 exempts professiorial services from formal public
bid on purchases of goods and services above $5,000; and
V~'HEREAS, consultants can assist the City in designs, negotiations, drafting
agreements, feasibility studies, and general project management; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager needs to be able to use consultant services above
the $S,OOO limit restriction to~be more responsive to Council demands.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood.does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to use consultant
services above the $5000 limit restriction but not to exceed $10,000 on a single project
for FY 03-04 only. .. ,
Section 2. The City Manager or her designee is hereby authorized to
enter into agr~ement to secure services.
Section 3. This resolution sha11 take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
