HomeMy Public PortalAbout1985-072Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 85- RESOLUTION DENYING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR INTERMEDIATE DISTRICT 287, HENNEPIN TECHNICAL CENTERS WHEREAS, Intermediate District 287, Hennepin Technical Centers (applicant) has applied for a conditional use permit to construct and operate an equine center on property located north of County Road 6 and east of Homestead Trail; and WHEREAS, said property is zoned rural residential (RR); and WHEREAS, an equine center is not among the uses listed in section 826.19 of the city code as permitted within the RR district; and WHEREAS, an equine center is not among the uses listed in section 826.21 of the city code as permitted by conditional use permit within the RR district. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The proposed equine center is not a use permitted as of right within the RR district. 2. The proposed equine center is not a use permitted by condi- tional use permit within the RR district. 3. An equine center is permissible by conditional use permit within the urban residential (UR) district because it is a school and section 826.31 of the city code allows schools within the UR district by conditional use permit. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that the applicant take notice that the city council will not consider a request for a conditional use permit for an equine center unless the use will be located on the property zoned UR and that the staff be instructed to refrain from accepting or processing an application for a conditional use permit for an equine center unless the use will be located on property zoned UR.
