A non-mandatory Pre-Qualifications Conference was held on February 13,2020, whichincluded a presentation of the proposed project as well as a site-visit. Twelve (12) representatives fromfive (5) general contractors and seven (7) design firms attended. Addendum No. 1 was issued on February14, 2020 providing answers to submitted questions and clarification to the RFQ. Addendum No. 2 wasissued on February 20, 2020 providing answers to submitted questions and to extend the submittaldeadline to March 5, 2020 to allow for more time for outreach. This extension will delay the selection ofthe short list of DBE's that was initially scheduled for the end of February 2020 to early March. However,it does not affect our schedule of the issuance of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to these DBE's in April2020.On Febmary 14, 2020, the Millbrae Recreation Center subcommittee met to review and discuss a list ofpotential cost-saving measures that were identified by Staff, to achieve a total project budget of $30million dollars. The goal of this exercise is to identify ways to reduce $3 million dollars in constructioncosts. For the next two weeks. Staff will finalize the list, based on the subcommittee's comments, andprovide recommendations to the Subcommittee for approval.Design-Build Proposals will be issued for review by City Staff in June 2020, followed by Council awardof the Design-Build contract in July 2020, as scheduled. Site construction will commence in Summer2020, with Substantial Completion of construction in early 2022, Move-in activities in early 2022, andPage 1 of 2
