A RESOLUTION OF THE C1TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE AN FNFORMAL REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TRASH AND RECYCLING RECEPTACLES FOR CITY FACIL'ITIES
WHEREAS, to improve and enhance existing solid waste programs; promote
recycling and reduce littering at City facilities, the City wishes to pursue a total of 59
new stainless steel trash and recycling receptacles and 3 solar powered trash
compactors; and
WHEREAS, purchasing stainless steel trash and recycling receptacles and solar
powered trash ~compactors to be installed at various City facilities and bus stops can be
done more economically and expeditiously using the informal bid procedure;'and
WHEREAS, Section 6-3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code allows City Council
to authorize purchases through an informal bid by a 4/5 vote; and
WHEREAS, funds are available through the Department of Resources Recycling
and Recovery (CalRecycle), formerly the Department of Conservation, Beverage
Recycling Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood finds that the
acquisition of the trash and recycling receptacles for city facilities through an informal
bid may be more economically an efficiently effective that such direction requires a 4/5
vote of the City Council Members and the City Council hereby approves the exercise of
the exemption under Lynwood Municipal Code Section 6-3.13.
Section 2. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
