A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AWARDING A CONTRACT TO SEQUEL CONTRACTORS IN THE AMOUNT
OF $687,275.00 FOR THE LONG BEACH BLVD. IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,
PROJECT NUMBER 05-5084, AND AUTHORIZING TH~ 1VIAYOR TO EXECUTE
- THE AGREEMENT".
WHEREAS, the Long Beach Blvd. Improvement Project (Palm Ave, to Orchard
~, ` Ave), Project No. OS-5084, Federal Project No. 07-1-LA-0-LYN-STPLMA-5250 (001) is
~:~~ scheduled for c'ompletion during the FY 2003-2004; and
WHEREAS, the Long Beach Blvd. Street Improvement Project is funded by STP
Funds; and ' , ,
WHEREAS, the bid opening was held on October 9, 2003 and Orion Contracting
Inc. was the apparent lowest bidder at $661,350.00 but did not meet Specification
requirements; and , • - . .
WHEREAS, Sequel Contractors was the second apparent low bidder at
$687,275.00 which meets all Specification requirements; and
, WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the necessary
experience for this type of project. ~ ~
NOW TI~EREFORE, the City Council of the' City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. .- That the contract for the Long Beach Blvd. Street Improvement
~~ Project, Project Number OS-5084, be awarded to Sequel Contractors, for its bid of
~ _ , $687,275.00. ~ ,
' ~Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby ~autliorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Sequel Contractors.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of November 18, 2003.
