AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
MCMANIMON & SCOTLAND, LLC
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, ("Borough"), is in need of specialized legal
services with regard-to MCIA equipment lease; and
WHEREAS, McManimon & Scotland, LLC possess the requisite skill and expertise to
provide such specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Law Director of the Borough of Carteret has recommended the
appointment of McManimon & Scotland, LLC to defend the Borough of Carteret at an
hourly rate of$175.00, not to exceed a maximum cbst of$4,500.00; and
'VHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available
for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, that McManimon & Scotland, LLC is hereby appointed as special counsel to
defend the Borough of Carteret in the above described matters at an hourly rate of
$175.00, not to exceed a maximum cost of$4,500.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOL "ED that this appointment is made as a professional services
contract pursuant to NJ.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and
Open Process as authorized by law. .
