Allen Planning,Zoning&Economic Development Director City of Tybee Island 403 Butler Avenue Tybee Island,Georgia 31328 Re: Installation of Buffer at Savannah Beach Inn,21 Officers'Row Dear Brannyn: Per our meeting yesterday,Ms. Ann Last and Savannah Beach Inn have agreed to install a privacy fence at least six feet high on both sides of the Inn to serve as buffer to neighboring properties. The installation of these fences will extend only to the length of the actual bed and breakfast and will not extend to the lot lines. Per our agreement,Ms.Last will complete the installation of these fences on or before January 15,2008. It is further our understanding that the City of Tybee will dismiss the police citations against Ms. Last for(1)failure to maintain a six-foot buffer;(2)failure to file an approved parking plan;and(3) operating an event planning business without a proper license, upon completion of the above- referenced fence installation. Per our meeting with Mr.Milliken, the parking and event planning citations have been resolved to the satisfaction of the City. With respect to the installation of the fences,after our meeting Ms.Last and I walked the property and we do have concerns about the ability to place a privacy fence on the southern property line due to the existence of a mature oleander hedge buffer. Due to the fact that the oleanders do provide a substantial buffer between the properties,it does not appear to make sense to install a privacy fence which would require the removal of the oleander hedge.
