A RESO~.UTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE URBAN PARK ACT OF 2001 -
. PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE
~ NEIGHBORHOOD,PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2002 FOR
FERNWOOD NATURE TRAIL ' ' ~
~~ ~ WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted California Safe
~ Neighborhood Parks, Ciean Water, Clean Air, and Coastat Protection Bond Act of 2002 which
provides funds to the State of California for grants to eligible applicants; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the Urban Park Act of 2001 Program -and
° the grant project shown abbve within the State, setting up necessary procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks
and Recreation require the City Council to certify by resol'ution the approval of the application
prior to submission to the State, and '
WHEREAS, the City will enter into a contract with the State of California for the
Project. ' '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City- of
Lynwood as follows: ~ .
~ Section 1: That the City~ Council approves the filling for local assistance funds
from the Urban Park Act of 2001 under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean aic,
and ~Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002. ,
~ Section 2: That the City Council certifies the ~City of Lynwood has or will have
sufficient fiunds to operate and maintain the Projects .
Section 3: That the City Council certifies that staff has reviewed,. understands
and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural Guide:
~ Section 4: That the City Council appoints the City Manager or her designee as
agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to
applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for .the
completion of Rrojects.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 6th day of January ~ , 2004.
