The following procedures (typical)were utilized when assembling this individual frame:
Frame Corner Constructiom At each top corner, the mullion (FG-5108)ran through while the
head member(FG-5110)was square cut, butted, and mechanically fastened to the mullion
using three(3), #14 x 1011H STS fasteners. See Drawing #500ORMS_01,6 of 11, Detail 5.
NOTE:` Each end of the door header was square cut, and mechanically fastened to each
mullion using four(4), #14x1~HHSTS fasteners. At each bottom corner, the mullion(FG-
10 )ran through while the threshold(11-1-56) was square cut, butted and mechanically
fastened to the mullion using one(1),4"long threahold (FG5000-FP7) per end. Each
threshold clip was secured to the mullion using four(4), Vi-20 x 3/4'PFH MS. The threshold
was then placed over the threshold dips and secured directly to the opening as described in
the installation section of this test report. NOTE: After this individual frame was assembled, a
conUnmooy-0|1e,(FG-5189)was applied to the jamb mullion prIor to the installation of this
frame into the opening.
Door Stop Attachmentt Continuous Door Stop(FG-5122)members were applied to the door
header and the portions of both mullions located between the door header and the threshold.
The Doo Stop used at eith ul location ched mechanically to the mullion using a
single row of#1Bx1"PFH SMS located J"from each frame corner and 18°oncenter
thereafter. The Door Stop used at the door header location was attached nasdh to the
door header using a single row of#10 x 1-3V8,PFH SMS located G"from each end and 18^on
center thereafter,
Transom Glazing Pocket Assembly: A continuous fixed glass stop (RG-5118) was applied to the
portions of both mullions in this individual frame located above the door header,i.e., at the
transom. Each fixed glass stop was attached to the mullion usi single Qxl"PH
STS located 2"away from each end of the stop and one at the centerline of the stop. NOTE:
The t between each fixed glass stop end and the window wall framing was sealed with a
bead of 5M7100 Polyurethane sealant, A continuous removable glass stop(FG-5119) was
snapappl1ed to each mullion on the exterior side of the transom.
Removable Weather Seal Member Attament: The removable weather seal member was
attached at one end to the door header and at the other end to the threshold using one(1)
aluminum shear block per end. NOTE: A Y2°x 3/4°u 1-1/2"shear block(FP-3)was used at the
threshold location while a x4/4"X1.156"shear block(Fp'4)was used et the door header
location. Each shear block was attached to either the threshold or the door header using two
(Z), #10x1~PHSTS. The removable weather seal member was attached to eIther shear block
using two(2), #10 x }I"FH STS. NOTE: Each end of the removable weather seal member
was sealed with a bead of 5M7100 Polyurethane sealant. See Drawing #5000RMg_81, gpf1l
for more information on the placement of the sealant.
Frame Joint Sealant: Each head member/mullion joint and each door header/mullion joint was
sealed using strips of Schnee-Morehead SM5329 TackyTmpa(0 industrial Tape Sealant. See

The fallowing procedures(typical)were utilized when assembling each Individual frame:
Frame Corner Construction: At each frame corner, the vertical frame member ran through
while the horizontal frameenember was square cut, butted, and medianically fastened to the
vertical using three(3),#14 x 1"HH STS fasteners. See Drawing #5000RMS_01,6 of 11,
Detail 5. NOTE: This same construction method was utilized In the attachment of the
intermediate horizontal to either vertical frame member. NOTE; A continuous-filler(PG-5109)
was applied to the jamb mullion of the Individual frame used in the right bay prior it's
installation into the opening, The glass stop used at either the sill or the intermediate
horizontal locations was cut 1/16"In length less than the D.L.0, and hooked into the window
wall framing.
Frame Joint Sealant: Each frame joint was sealed using strips of Schnee-Morehead SM5229
TackyTape®Industrial Tape Sealant. See Drawing #5000FtMS_01, 5 of 11, Details 1,2 and 3
for the location of the tape sealant.
6.3 Overall Frame Assembly: The first step In the assembly of the overall sample was to place
a continuous sill flashing(PG-5117)across the entire width of the opening where the center
and right individual frames were located. NOTE.: A continuous perimeter bead of SM7100
Polyurethane sealant was applied on both the exterior and interior side of the sill flashing
Including all heads of the fasteners used to attach the sill flashing to the opening. Second, the
individual frame for the right bay was stacked on to the sill flashing and secured to the
opening. Third, the individual frame located In the center bay was stacked on to the sill
flashing and snapped to the individual frame already present in the right bay. NOTE: A
continuous bead of SM7100 Polyurethane sealant was applied at the joint between each frame
sill and the sill flashing and also at each joint between the sill flashing and the vertical mullions.
Finally, the individual frame located in the left bay was stacked Into the opening and snapped
to the individual frame already located In the center bay. NOTE: A bead of SM7100
Polyurethane sealant was also applied to the substrate prior to the attachment of this individual
frame. This bead sealed the ends of the vertical mullions to the opening and also sealed the
under-surface-of the threshold to the substrate. See Drawing #50001eMS_01, 7 of 11, Detail 7
for the placement of this sealant bed. NOTE; Each mullion/mullion filler Interior joint was
• sealed with a bead of 5M7100 Polyurethane sealant that started at the bottom end of the
