HomeMy Public PortalAbout2004-029 (03-02-04)RESOLUTION NO. 2004.029 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2004.005 AND APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE URBAN PARK ACT OF 2001 PROGRAM UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2002 FOR LYNWOOD SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER ~ WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted California Safe ~~ Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002 which ~ provides funds to the State of California for grants to eligible applicants; and ~, WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the Urban Park Act of 2001 Program and the grant project shown above within the State, setting up necessary procedures, and , WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation require the City Council to certify by resolution the approval of the application prior to submission to the State; and WHEREAS, the City will enter into a contract with the State of California for the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows~ Section 1: That the City Council approves the filling for local assistance funds from the Urban Park Act of 2001 under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2002. Section 2: That the City Council certifies the City of Lynwood has or will have ~ sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Projects ~ Section 3: That the City Council certifies that staff has reviewed, understands and agrees to the General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the Procedural Guide. Section 4. That the City Council certifies that the Grantee has or will have available, prior to commencement of any work on the Project, the proportional match. Section 5. That the City Council certifies that the Project conforms to the recreation element of any applicable city or county general plan Section 6: That the City Council appoints the City Manager or the City Manager's designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of Projects. 2003.005 Section 7: That this resolution shall supercede and amend Resolution No. Section 8: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. ~ PASSED, APPROVED ANQ ADOPTED THIS 2nd day of March , 2004. f `-• ~ ~ LOUIS BYRD, ayo City of Lynwood ATTEST: 4} , ~,,~ ~~ .
