A RESOLUTION OF~THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING CTAFF TO UTILIZE THE INFORMAL BID PROCESS FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH PREPARING A
HA~ARD MITIGATION PLAN ~
WHEREAS, the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires local, state, and county
government agencies to establish mitigation planning for disaster situations; and
WHEREAS, the plamiing process includes the preparation of a Hazard
Mingahoii Plan to establish local initigation planning for before and after disaster
situations, and
WHEREAS, the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 encourages cooperation
between state and local authonhes, and
WHEREAS, the cities of Compton, Downey,. and South Gate have expressed
inYerest In a~oint effort to reduce the costs in preparing the plan, and
WHER~AS, it is the desire of the City Council to comply with the requirements
outhned in the Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, order, and resolve as follows~
~ Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to solicrt informal bids from
~, fiin~s to prepare a Hazard Mitigation Plan in an amount not to exceed $15,000
Section 2. The transfer of funds from the unappropriated general fund (Ol)~

$15,000 1-4122-4220
Section 3. Th~s resolution shall become effective immediately upon ~ts adoption.
