RESOLUTION NO. ~'~d4-~~~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
CONTRACT WITH HUNTER-KENNEDY AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
FOR THE CITY=S STORMWATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT
PLAN, APPROVING THE NECESSARY FUNDS APPROPRIATION-
AND TR.ANSFER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Region Water Quality Control Board requires all
municipalities in the Los Angeles County to comply with the National Pollutant Discharge
Elimination System by implementing a Stormwater Quality Management Plan (SQMP); and
WHEREAS, said SQMP has been amended over the years to include specific
inspection requirement of restaurants and commereial/industrial facilities within each
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, said inspection is more cost effectively done through the use of
consulting services; and
WHEREAS, Hunter-Kennedy and Associates, Inc. is highly qualified for this
service by possessing the exclusive expertise and experience in this field; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the consultant's proposal and found that the
proposed fees of $49,140 are reasonable and comparable with those offered by the County of Los
Angeles. ,
+~ WHEREAS, the cost of administering this contract and the SQMP has been
~ estimated at $10,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows: ,
Section 1: That the City Council approves a service contract with Hunter-
Kennedy and Associates, Inc. for the review and implementation of the City's Stormwater
Quality 1Vlanagement Plan.
Section 2 That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to make the
following funds appropriation and transfer:

Section 3: That the Mayor is authorized to execute the contract agreement with
', Hunter-Kennedy and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $49,140. ~
