RESOLUTION NO. 09-7451
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA,RECOGNIZING MAY 7,
2009 AS NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER WITHIN THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA
WHEREAS, the United States Congress by passage of Public Law 100-307, as amended,
has called on our Nation to reaffirm the role of prayer in our society by recognizing one day each
year a "National Day of Prayer;" and
WHEREAS, May 7th, 2009 marks the 58th observance of National Day of Prayer in the
United States of America; and
WHEREAS,the theme for the 58th National Day of Prayer is"Prayer...America's Hope";
and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka wishes to recognize May 7,2009
as the "National Day of Prayer" within the City of Opa-locka.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby recognizes May 7,
2009 as "National Day of Prayer"within the City of Opa-locka.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
