AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE CORNELL ESTATES
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
'WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") authorized the preparation of bid
specifications and contract documents and advertisement for receipt of bids for the Cornell
'Estates Improvement Program; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough has prevjously received bids for said project on May 22,.2006; and
\VHEREAS, Star of the Sea, 448 Marlboro Road, Old Bridge, New Jersey submitted the lowest
bid for said work as evidence by the resp~mse on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department
and Borough's Consulting Engineer for the Project as follows.:

\VHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates, has reviewed the above
referenced bid propasal(s) and has recommended an award ofa contract for the Base Bid; and
'VHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for the award of a contract for said work.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey as follows:
L That the Borough hereby awards the bid for the Cornell Estates Improvement
Program to Star of the Sea, Old Bridge, New Jersey, in the amount of
$1,790,810.00 for the Base Bid.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract with Star of the Sea for the Cornell Estates Improvement
Program in the amount of Sl,790,810.00 and in accordance in all respects with
the request for proposals and bid on the same.
3. That Resolution #06-201 Awarding Bid for Cornell Estates to Tomaro
Contracting Co" Inc. is hereby rescinded.
4. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the J3orough's Purchasing
Department and C1.1E Associates for distribution to Star of the Sea.
