HomeMy Public PortalAbout1986-028Member p�1 / `'/Q "-4t n its adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 4'6/ -028 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS IN MEDINA MANOR FIRST ADDITION WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 86-19, adopted the 4th day of March, 1986, the City Council ordered the preparation of plans and specifications for street improvements in Medina Manor First Addition; and WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been prepared by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. The plans and specifications prepared by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be published as required by law, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under the plans andspecifications prepared by the City Engineer, either as a separate project or in connection with some other project. The advertisement shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until /O:oa Q,.m. on the 6 day of /1(4, 1986, at which time they will be publicly opened in 'the council chambers at city hall by the City Clerk and City Engineer, will be tabulated, and will be considered by the City Council at g.'00 p.m. on the day of A/a , 1986 in the council chambers and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check or bid bond. RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING, AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE BITUMINOUS SURFACING OF TAMARACK DRIVE WHEREAS, the City Council received the City Engineer's preliminary report dated May 7, 1985 and by resolution fixed a date for a public hearing on the proposed improvement of Tamarack Drive from County Road 24 to the southerly limits of the City; and WHEREAS, 10 days' published notice of the hearing through two weekly publications of the required notice was given and the hearing was held on the 4th day of June, 1985 at which all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon; and WHEREAS, the grading and gravel base work portion of such improvement was ordered by the City Council on such date; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to proceed with the bituminous surfacing portion of such project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City Council shall hold a public hearing on the proposed bituminous surfacing of Tamarack Drive from County Road 24 to the southerly limits of the City on the 6th day of May, 1986 in the council chambers at city hall at 8:00 p.m. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed as required by law to give mailed and published notice of said hearing and of the City Council's intent to assess all or a portion of the cost of said improvement to abutting and non -abutting property pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429. 3. Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc. is hereby designated as consulting engineer for the project and shall prepare plans and specifications for the making of said improvement. 4. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be published in such newspapers as required by Minnesota Statutes, Section 429.041, subd. 1 an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under the plans and specifica- tions prepared by the consulting engineer. The advertise- ment shall be published once in the official newspaper and time(s) in a newspaper or trade paper published in a city of the first class. The advertisement shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the City Clerk until /c as GL.m. on the 1 day of /2")G4, 1986, at which time they will be publicly opened" in the council chambers at city hall by the City Clerk and City Engineer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the City Council at g,'pp p.m. on the 6th day of May, 1986 in the council chambers and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check or bid bond.
