OA-7475 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO SEEK OUTSIDE COUNSEL FOR CERTAIN CASES INVOLVING THE PERSONNEL BOARD OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office represents the City of Opa-locka ("City") Personnel Board in matters that come before it; and WHEREAS, in certain limited cases it may be necessary for the City to obtain outside counsel to represent the City and its employees when there is a conflict or an appearance of a conflict of interest between the City and the Personnel Board for legal representation; and WHEREAS, the law firm of Goren, Cherof, Doody and Ezrol, P.A., represents a number of cities in South Florida as main and as outside counsel in cases involving employment and other city matters; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney is requesting that the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka ("City Commission) authorize the City Attorney to obtain such outside counsel or other counsel in matters involving the Personnel Board where there may be a conflict of interest between the City and the Personnel Board as to legal representation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble here are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the City Attorney to obtain outside counsel in matters involving the Personnel Board where there may be a conflict of interest between the City and the Personnel Board as to legal representation.
