CREATING HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE FOR
67 LEBER AVENUE
WHEREAS, WaIter Froh of 67 Leber Avenue has requested a Handicapped
Parking Space to be located on Ash Street; and
WHEREAS, this individual has met the requirements of the Traffic Safety
Bureau for said parking space; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has inspected said location and has no
objection to the approval of said Handicapped Parking Space; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the
Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret that the following Handicapped
Parking Space shall be designated:
Asb Street
(along side of property)
Walter Frob
Adopted this 6'h day ofMarcb, 2008
and certified as a tme copy ofthe original

As requested, we have reviewed the applicant's request for the designation of an on-street
handicapped parking space to be located on Ash Street along the side of the propelly.
Based on our site visit the propel1y in question meets the requirements for the designation
of a handicapped parking space, and fmlhermore, as required by NJSA Title 39:4-197.5,
the subject application indicates the applicant possesses a valid disabled person
identification card.
Therefore, since there are no physical or regulatory restrictions for designating a
handicapped parking space at this location, we havtUlo objection to the Borough granting
the applicant's request for a designated handicapped parking~space on Ash Street along
the side of the property, subject to the approval of the Borough's Traffic Safety Officer.
Please note if approved a $250.00 fee will be required from the applicant before the space
is provided. This fee will cover the review costs, cost of the signs and pavement striping.

Dear Ms. Barney:
As requested, we have reviewed the applicant's request for the designation of an on-street
handicapped space to be located on Ash Street along the side of the propeliy. Based on
our site visit, the property in question provides for off street parking at this location, and
on street parking is available.
Therefore, since there is adequate on-street parking at the subject property, we have
denied the applicant's request for the designation of an on street handicapped parking
space.
