Tydus RESOLUTION NO. n 9-748 5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA SUPPORTING A "70's COSTUME BALL UNDER THE STARS" CITYWIDE EVENT TO TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 31, 2009 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida ("City Commission") desires to engage its residents and citizens by hosting various events throughout the year; and WHEREAS, on July 23, 2008, the City Commission adopted Resolution 08-7312 supporting a"70's Costume Ball Under the Stars" which was held on October 31, 2008; and WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that October 31, 2009 (typically celebrated as "Halloween") would be an ideal date for the City to hold its second "70's Costume Ball Under the Stars"; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires that any proceeds received from the event shall be deposited into the City of Opa-locka Miscellaneous Account #36-9900 and that any revenues needed for start-up expenses related to the event shall be written from the City's General Fund Account# 79-579391. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby supports and establishes the date of October 31, 2009 as the second City-wide costume event to be known as the "70's Costume Ball Under the Stars." Resolution No. 09-748') Section 3. Any proceeds received from the event shall be deposited into the City of Opa-locka Miscellaneous Account #36-9900 and any revenues needed for start-up expenses related to the event shall be written from the City General Fund Account# 79-579391.
