RESOLUTION NO. 09-7487
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A
SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR A CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, Article I., Section 2-8.4 of the City of Opa-locka Code of Ordinances
requires that there be a five (5) member search committee established for the purpose of
soliciting, screening and recommending candidates to the Opa-locka City Commission for the
position of City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the previous City Manager, Jannie R. Beverly, resigned on December 10,
2008; and
WHEREAS, on December 10, 2008, the City Commission appointed Bryan K. Finnie as
Interim City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission now desires to establish a search committee for a new
City Manager as set forth in Article I, Section 2-8.4 of the City's Code of Ordinances and Article
III, Section 27 of the City Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby establishes a search
committee for a new City Manager pursuant to the process and criteria set forth in Article I,
Section 2-8.4 of the City of Opa-locka Code of Ordinances and as consistent with Article III,
Section 27 of the City of Opa-locka Charter.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
