A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE
RENOVATION OF CITY OFFICE SPACE FOR THE CITY
CLERK AND CITY COMMISSION AT A ONE-TIME COST
OF EIGHT THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE
DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS($8,795.00),PAYABLE FROM
ACCOUNT NO. 19-519461
WHEREAS,the City of Opa-locka("City")has leased office space for City departments on
the 4th floor of the Town Center One building; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that the offices of the City Clerk and City
Commission should be renovated to provide for additional security by installing a new wall,window,
countertop, door, electronic door strikes and a key remote; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to authorize the
renovation of the office space for the City Clerk and City Commission at a one-time cost of Eight
Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Zero Cents ($8,795.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the
renovation of city office space for the City Clerk and City Commission, at a one-time cost of Eight
Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Five Dollars and Zero Cents ($8,795.00),payable from Account
No. 19-519461.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.

Request: / APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH TOWN
CENTER MANAGEMENT TO REHABILITE, INSTALL ELECTRIC
STRIKES, AND ADDED SECURITY FOR THE OFFICE OF THE
CITY CLERK AND CITY COMMISSION FOR EIGHT THOUSAND
SEVEN-HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS AND ZERO
CENTS.($8,795.00).
Description: If approved, work will include the installation of a new wall, window and granite
countertop, one door and frame with an electronic key remote as well as the
relocation of the A/C return, lighting, ceiling tiles and the installation of electronic
door strikes.
Financial Impact: This Item has a negative fiscal impact of$8,795.
Implementation Timeline: Immediately

Analysis: If completed, the City Commission and members of the City Clerk's Office should
have a greater level of security and reduce the instances of individuals walking into
secure areas without permission.
