Greetings :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby
directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of Brewster who are qualified to vote
in Town affairs to meet at the Brewster Town Offices, 2198 Main Street, in said
Brewster on TUESDAY, THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF MAY, 2001 , then and there to
elect the following officers :
One Moderator for One Year
Two Selectmen for Three Years
One Constable for One Year
One Town Clerk for Three Years
Two Nauset Regional School Committee Members for Three Years
Two Brewster School Committee Members for Three Years
One Planning Board Member for Five Years
Two Board of Health Members for Three Years
Two Recreation Commission Members for Three Years
One Housing Authority Member For Five Years
One Old Kings Highway Regional District Committee Member for Four
Years
One Water Commissioner for Three Years
and to vote upon the following Ballot questions :
Question # 1
Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to assess an additional $ 188, 168 . 00 in
real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding one ( 1 ) fire
prevention officer and two (2) firefighter/ paramedic positions and related
employee benefits for the Fire Department for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
2001 ?
Question #2
Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to assess an additional $ 16,500 . 00 in real
estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding one ( 1 ) assistant
recreation director and related employee benefits for the Recreation Department
for the fiscal year beginning July 1 , 2001 ?
Question #3
Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to assess and additional $81 ,244. 00 in
personal and property taxes for the purpose of funding two (2) elementary
school teaching positions and related employee benefits for the Elementary
School Department for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001?
Question #4
Shall the public water supply in Brewster be fluoridated; with the cost of
purchasing and installing the fluoride metering systems, engineering support
services and a one year supply of fluoride chemical being paid for by state grant
money?
Question #5
Shall the Town vote to have its Selectmen appoint Cemetery Commissioners?
Question #6
Shall the Town of Brewster be allowed to assess an additional $40,000 .00 in real
estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding one ( 1 )
Dispatcher/Clerk position and related employee benefits for the Fire Department
for fiscal year beginning July 1 , 2001 ?
