A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, SETTING THE
PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE PURSUANT TO SECTION
200.065(2)(b), FLORIDA STATUTES, FOR FISCAL YEAR
2009-2010, COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2009, THROUGH
SEPTEMBER 30, 2010; ESTABLISHING THE DATE, TIME
AND PLACE FOR WHICH PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE
HELD TO CONSIDER THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE
AND THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-
2010
WHEREAS,Section 200.065,Florida Statutes,provides that a taxing authority shall advise
the Property Appraiser and Tax Collector of its proposed millage rate, its current year rolled-back
rate and of the date,time and place for which a public hearing will be held to consider the proposed
millage rate and the tentative budget; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 200.065(2)(b),Florida Statutes,the taxing authority must
advise the Property Appraiser of said proposed millage rate and of the date,time and place for which
a public hearing will be held to consider the proposed millage rate and the tentative budget for the
preparation of the Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (TRIM Notice); and
WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Opa-locka has recommended a proposed
millage rate for Fiscal year 2009-10 commencing October 1,2009,and ending September 30,2010.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The proposed tax levy and millage rate for the City of Opa-locka,Florida,for
Fiscal Year 2009-2010, commencing October 1, 2009, through September 30, 2010, is hereby

proposed to be at the rolled back rate of 8.5467 mills, which is $8.2084 per $1,000.00 of assessed
property value within the City of Opa-locka. This represents a 0%increase over the rolled-back rate
of 8.5467 mills.
Section 3. The date,time and place of the public hearings to consider the above proposed
millage rate and tentative budget shall be as follows:
Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Time: 5:01 P.M.
Place: Historic City Hall
777 Sharazad Boulevard
Opa-locka, Florida
Date: Monday, September 21, 2009
Time: 5:01 P.M.
Place: Historic City Hall

Opa-locka, Florida
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Opa-locka is hereby directed to transmit a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser and the Tax
Collector of Miami-Dade County.
