Present , Claire Gradone , Chris Miller , Roberta Murphy , Denise Rego
Absent . Joan Carstanjen , Judy Miller , Jim O ' Leary and Cindy Bingham , Selectmen liaison .
The meeting was called to order at 2 : 30 pm at the Brewster Police Department conference
room .
Secretary' s Report - The minutes of the April 28 , 2017 meeting will be reviewed and
voted on at our October 20 , 2017 meeting .
Director' s Report - Claire recapped the new concession stand at the Stony Brook School
for the Brewster Whitecap games . They have lost the access to the bathrooms inside the
building and the best viewing spot to see the game . The handicapped bathroom stall
doesn ' t have a handicap toilet . The Whitecaps ' management got a portable handicap
facility for the property .
Claire met with Mike Embury regarding grant applications . He told her that there was
some money left from our last project that we could use in the future . We would like to
purchase a mobi - mat for the Whitecaps hill up to the concession stand . We have also
noticed that the grass on the hill is eroding , and DPW has looked at it and will fix .
Ellen from Recreation Department has installed a viewing station at all the soccer and
ballfields at Freeman 's Fields thru the Massachusetts Office of Disability . They also have
a golf cart to help people with mobility issues to get to the ball fields .
Claire is planning to meet with Whitecaps management to make a comprehensive plan and
redesign paved walkways . There is also interest in rebuilding the press box , which would
need an elevator to make it accessible . Ultimate goal would be to include a Souvenir Shop
and Concession Stand in the new Press Box building . The CC Baseball League gives each
team $ 10 ,000 . after every season .
Chris Miller stated that the Millsite should have a permoment portable potty next summer .
Fall Warrant has an article to purchase a property on Paines Creek Road , which would be
developed for beach parking . Many felt that this summer's parking issues were much
better with the additional parking spaces at Crosby Beach .
