HomeMy Public PortalAbout50 Trails Grant MatchTown of Truckee California RESOLUTION NO. 98-50 A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE TRUCKEE RIVER TRAIL PHASE I PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000 OR 30% OF THE PROJECT COSTS, WHICHEVER IS LESS. WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee strongly supports the application for the 1998 Recreational Trails Grant for the Truckee River Trails Phase I; and WHEREAS, the construction of the Truckee River Trail has been identified as a high priority in the Town of Truckee General Plan; and WHEREAS, the State of California is soliciting grant requests to compete for State funding of recreational trails; and WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee ("TOWN") and the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District ("DISTRICT") are mutually pursuing the construction of the Truckee River Trail; and WHEREAS, the District has been identified as the appropriate entity to submit the grant application for this phase of the trail project because it is located on lands within their control; and WHEREAS, the Town has budgeted funds for the Truckee River Trail primarily for the purpose of leveraging grant funds and volunteer support; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY ~ TOWN COUNCIL OF ~ TOWN OF TRUCKEE, THAT the Town commits funding the required match for the 1998 application to the State of California Recreational Trails Program for the Truckee River Trail in an amount not to exceed $50,000 or 30% of the project costs, whichever is less. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Town Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with the State of California and/or the District for the expenditure of the funds if the grant is received for the project. The foregoing Resolution was introduced at a Regular Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Truckee, held on the 19th day of November, 1998, by Councilmember McCormack who moved its adoption, which motion being duly seconded by Councilmember Susman and upon roll call was adopted by the following vote: AYES: NOES: None ABSENT: None Councilmembers Drake, McCormack, Schneider, Susman & Mayor FIorian Ronald Florian, Mayor Stephen I~.~'~right,~ow~k
