M. for the purpose of discussing Bay Harbor Islands' request that Bal Harbour share in a portion of the cost of a new water line on 96th Street. Present: Mr. Beatty, Miss Gray and Messrs. Krez, Printup and Taplin. Also present: Fred Maley, Village Manager, Mary Wetterer, Village Clerk, Mr. Hales and Dr. Haas representing Bay Harbor Islands. Mr. Maley reviewed the original installation of the 12" water line from the City of Miami Beach that serves both Bal Harbour and Bay Harbor Islands. He said that Bay Harbor Islands now wants to put in a two block long segment of 24" line to serve their town and is asking that Bal Harbour share in the cost of the line from Byron Avenue to Bal Bay Drive. The line would be installed during the 96th Street widening job. After discussion it was moved by Mr. Taplin, seconded by Mr. Beatty and voted that Bal Harbour Village would pay approximately $50,000 which is one-half of the contract cost of the portion of line that would be used by Bal Harbour if a new larger water line is run from Miami Beach. Mr. Maley said that Jack Jones, Chairman of the Surf-Bal-Bay Library Advisory Committee asked that a one time renovation be made at the library at a cost of $25,000, to be financed by the three towns on the same basis as our pro-rata contribution. It was suggested that we investigate the possibility of getting service for our residents from the City of Miami Beach or Dade County. On motion of Mr. Krez, seconded by Miss Gray the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 A. M. Attest: L . Village Clerk f!% Mayor
