Taylor RESOLUTION NO. 0 9-7 9 4 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH CSX CORPORATION ("CSX") TO IDENTIFY AND CLEAR DEBRIS ON AND AROUND RAILROAD TRACKS AND TO ENCOURAGE THE REPAIR OF ARMS, RAILINGS AND OTHER TRAIN RELATED STRUCTURES AND MECHANISMS WITHIN THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA WHEREAS,CSX Corporation("CSX")operates and maintains approximately 2,800 miles of railroad track within the State of Florida, including tracks within the City of Opa-locka("City"); and WHEREAS,debris on and around the CSX operated railroad tracks can pose a significant safety hazard for City residents; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka,Florida("City Commission") desires to authorize the City Manager to work in conjunction with CSX to identify debris on and around the CSX railroad tracks and to encourage CSX to clear debris,repair arms,railings and other train related structures and mechanisms within the City. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs and authorizes the City Manager to work in conjunction with CSX Corporation to identify debris on and around CSX maintained and operated railroad tracks within the City and to further encourage the repair of arms, railings and other train related structures and mechanisms within the City of Opa-locka. Resolution No. 0 9-7 94 7 Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized to take any and all necessary action to effectuate the intent of this Resolution. Section 4.
