Call to Order. 2. Public Comments. 3. Approval of Minutes. 4. Executive Director's Report. A. Status of 1987 STIP. B. Status of Freeway Callbox Project. C. Status of RIV/SAN Transportation Study. 5. Local Sales Tax for Transportation - Legislation Language Staff is recommending that the same provisions in AB 1637 authorizing a local sales tax for transportation in San Bernardino County be made to apply to Riverside County and, in addition, that 2 additional provisions regarding the Coachella Valley be added. 6. Local Sales Tax for Transportation - Public Opinion Poll Staff is recommending that the Commission retain a firm to conduct a public opinion poll on the sales tax proposal and also hire a firm to help with the needed authorizing legislation and with the poll. 7. 1988-1992 Short Range Transit Plan. The short range transit plans for the County's transit operators are presented for Commission approval. 8. FY 1987-88 UMTA Section 18 Program. The UMTA Section 18 assistance program for transit operators in rural areas is presented for approval. 9. FY 1987-88 UMTA Section 9 Program. The UMTA Section 9 assistance program for transit operators in urbanized areas is presented for approval. 10. FY 1987-88 State Transit Assistance Program. The proposed STA Program for FY 87-88 is presented for Commission approval. 11. Ca.jalco Freeway Study - Status The Committee appointed by the Commission has met once. Staff will report on the outcome of that meeting. 12. Coachella Valley Transportation Study. The study has been completed and is being distributed to the cities in the Coachella Valley for review and approval. SCAG staff will make a presentation to the Commission on the study. 13. FY 1987-88 Commission Budget. The FY 1987-88 budget is presented for Commission approval. 14. Appointment of Alternate to Commission's Citizen Member. Commissioner Susan Cornelison has nominated Mr. Russell Beirich of Palm Springs as her alternate on the Commission. 15. Closed Session. Staff recommends that the Commission convene in closed session to discuss and act on•personnel matters. 16. Adjournment. The next Commission meeting is scheduled to be held on June 3, 1987 at 2:00 P.M.
