HomeMy Public PortalAbout1987-010Member its adoption: .5C, h introduced the following resolution and moved CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 8 I- o RESOLUTION RECEIVING FEASIBILITY REPORT, ORDERING IMPROVEMENT, ORDERING PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF HOLY NAME DRIVE AND MEDINA ROAD WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the city council adopted the 6th day of January 1987, a report has been prepared by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates with reference to the improvement of Holy Name Drive from County Road 24 to Medina Road and Medina Road from Holy Name Drive to Hunter Drive by constructing permanent streets to a 7 ton capacity and by constructing a recreational trail on the shoulder of the road, which report was received by the city council on the 17th day of February 1987; and WHEREAS, by the same resolution adopted on the 6th day of January 1987, the city council called for a public hearing on the proposed improvement, which hearing was held on the 17th day of February 1987, following 10 days mailed notice and two weeks published notice, at which time all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The feasibility report prepared by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates regarding the proposed improvements and the assessment of abutting and non -abutting properties for all or a portion of the cost thereof is accepted. 2. The improvements as proposed in the feasibility report are hereby ordered with a completion date of July 1, 1987. 3. It is the judgment of the city council that the proposed improvements have no relationship to the city's comprehensive plan. 4. Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates is hereby designed as engineers for these improvements and shall prepare plans and specifica- tions for the making of such improvements. 5. The clerk -treasurer shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in ��n�,� 6,( )c it,, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under the plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the clerk -treasurer until /0'00 Cc..m. on (.Pr,(. 3 , 1987, at which time they will be publicly opened in the council chambers at city hall by the clerk -treasurer and city engineer, will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the council at %: 30 p.m. on ilpri L '7 , 1987, in the council chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk -treasurer and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the clerk -treasurer for percent of the amount of such bid.
