RESOLUTION NO. 09-7958
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO WRITE A FORMAL LETTER OF APOLOGY
TO THE FAMILY OF A.QUINN JONES,III ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, A. Quinn Jones, III was a former City Attorney for the City of Opa-locka for
many years and is now deceased; and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to direct a formal letter
of apology be sent to the family of Former City Attorney, A. Quinn Jones, III, in the event that any
insensitivity may have been expressed from the dais by any City Commission member with regard to
his memory and his name.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs the City
Manager to write a formal letter of apology to the family of A. Quinn Jones, III,to express apology
in the event that insensitivity may have been expressed from the dais by any Commission member
with regard his memory and his name. The City Commission further directs that the City Attorney
review and approve the final wording of the letter before it is sent.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
