A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00)
FOR A "HOLIDAY IN THE PARK TOY GIVE-AWAY" TO
BE HELD ON DECEMBER 12,2009 AND CARRYING OVER
THE AMOUNT OF TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($2,400.00) FOR ALLOCATED BUT UNUSED
MONIES CONNECTED WITH THE "HEALTH/WELLNESS
SHOWDOWN"RELATED TO THE OPA-LOCKA STEPPERS
FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF SEVEN THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED ($7,400.00) TO GO TOWARDS THE "HOLIDAY
IN THE PARK TOY GIVE-AWAY"EVENT,AND PAYABLE
FROM ACCOUNT#79-579402.
WHEREAS,out of a desire to foster good will and assist children who may not be able to
experience holiday joy during these tough economic times,Commissioner Dorothy"Dottie"Johnson
desires to sponsor a"Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away" to be held on December 12, 2009; and
WHEREAS, in order to adequately fund the desired and worthwhile event,Commissioner
Dorothy "Dottie" Johnson is requesting that the City of Opa-locka Commission authorize the
expenditure of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)toward the City event for the toy give-away and
further requests that Two Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($2,400.00) in allocated but unused
monies from the"Health/Wellness Showdown"(Opa-locka Steppers)be re-allocated and re-directed
towards the"Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away"event for a total amount of Seven Thousand Four
Hundred Dollars ($7,400.00).
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the
expenditure of Five Thousand Dollars($5,000.00)for a"Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away"event
to be held on December 12,2009 and further authorizes the City Manager to re-allocate and re-direct
an additional Two Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($2,400.00) in unused monies from the
"Health/Wellness Showdown"(Opa-locka Steppers)to be re-allocated and re-directed towards the
"Holiday in the Park Toy Give-Away" event, for a total amount of Seven Thousand Four Hundred
Dollars ($7,400.00) and payable from Account#79-579402.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
