A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
EXPENDITURE OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00)
FOR THE PURCHASE OF TURKEYS TO BE DISTRIBUTED
AT THE CITY'S ANNUAL TURKEY GIVE-AWAY TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 20, 2009, PAYABLE FROM
ACCOUNT NO. 00120579403
WHEREAS,Commissioner Timothy Holmes is the sponsor of an annual turkey give-away
for the benefit of citizens of the City of Opa-locka("City")who are in need of food leading up to the
Thanksgiving Holiday; and
WHEREAS,the annual turkey give-away is an opportunity for the City to offer its support to
citizens in financial need who live within the City of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS,many of the City's residents are experiencing hardship due to tough economic
times; and
WHEREAS,Commissioner Timothy Holmes hereby requests that the City Commission of
the City of Opa-locka expend Five Thousand($5,000.00)for the purchase of turkeys for persons in
need to be distributed at the City's Annual Turkey Give-Away to be held on November 20, 2009.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby authorizes the
expenditure of Five Thousand($5,000.00)for the purchase of turkeys to be distributed at the City's
Annual Turkey Give-Away to be held on November 20, 2009, payable from Account No.
00120579403.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
