RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION ORDERING PROJECT,
ORDERING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING BIDS ON THE
EXTENSION OF A WATER LINE TO
THE WATER TOWER AND ON CONSTRUCTION
OF THE WATER TOWER
WHEREAS, by resolution No. 86-83 dated October 7, 1986, the City Council
fixed a date for a public hearing on the proposed extension of the trunk water
line on Willow Drive from T.H. 55 to the water tower site and on the construc-
tion of the water tower; and
WHEREAS, following due notice, a public hearing was held on November 5,
1986, on the proposed improvements, at which time all persons desiring to be
heard thereon were given an opportunity to address the council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. The extension of the trunk water line on Willow Drive from T.H. 55 to the
water tower site and the construction of the water tower are hereby
ordered.
2. Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates, Inc. is hereby designated as
city engineers for the improvements and shall prepare plans and specifi-
cations for the making thereof.
3. The clerk -treasurer shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the
official newspaper and in a trade paper or newspaper published in a city
of the first class an advertisement for bids upon the making of such
improvements under the plans and specifications. The advertisements
shall be published for days at least three weeks prior to the last
day for submission of bids, shall specify the work to be done, shall
state that bids will be received by the clerk until 10:30 a.m. on
April 3, 1987, at which time they will be publicly opened in the council
chambers of city hall by the clerk and city engineer, will then be
tabulated and will be considered by the council at 7%3 U p.m. on April 7,
1987, in the council chambers. Any bidder whose responsibility is
questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity
to address the council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the clerk and accompanied by a
cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the
clerk for five (5) percent of the amount of such bid.
