HomeMy Public PortalAbout1975-09-21 Gordon Brooks Resolution Town of Brewster OFFICE OF: 2 BOARD OF SELECTMEN ,r 3 y Brewster, Massachusetts BOARD OF ASSESSORS C) N BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Y _ y %vRpoap��v Q F S 0 L Q T 1 0 sf$.19.SQ3 WhEREAS, Gordon Brooks has served ceaselessly and untiringly in the position into which we have appointed him, namely: "Curator of Pianos"; and IRFAS, he has given unstintingly of his time in arranging for the refur- bishing of the recently acquired Chickering Piano; and WHEREAS, he has giver, the Tow's the benefit of his considerable musical skills in raising funds for this purTose, and WHERFAS, said refurbishing has been accomplished at no expense to the Tom Treasury, or no burden on the tayerss NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that WHEREAS, heretofore there were three me sica.l giants knoNn as the three namely; Bach, Beethoven and Brahms; in recognition, of Gordon Brooks' service to the Town and his enhancement of our cultural environment; we do THEREFORE, proclaim, ager and avow- that henceforth and forevermore in all the provinces of our domain a fourth "B" shall be added and that hereafter the musical giants in Brewster shall be Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Brooks. AND FURTHER, be it RESOLVED, that the Board of Selectmen of the Town of Breuer, extend to Mr. Brooks an ex,ession of their appreciation and that of has fellow townspeople, and be it further RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the record of the Town nth the Board's doings thereon and a Copy given to Mr. Brooks. a kbeA.
