HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance NO. 451 Amending Chapter 2 Articles 2 of the Fraser Code Establishing Mayoral Compensation Effective April 2020 TOWN OF FRASER ORDINANCE NO. 451 Series 2018 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 ARTICLES 2 OF THE FRASER CODE ESTABLISHING MAYORAL COMPENSATION EFFECTIVE APRIL 2020. WHEREAS; Compensation for elected officials have not changed since 2006; and WHEREAS, The Town Board reviewed compensation of 61 other municipalities and determined that Fraser Trustee’s compensation is comparable to the average while the Fraser Mayor’s compensation is well below average. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF FRASER, COLORADO, THAT: black PART 1: ADOPTION OF AMENDED OF TOWN CODE. \[Note: additions are shown in bold print; deletions are shown as strikethrough print.\] Sec. 2-2-50. - Compensation of Mayor and Trustees. (a) For each regular or special Board of Trustees' meeting at which a quorum is present and official business is transacted, each Trustee present shall receive one hundred dollars ($100.00), and the Mayor, or Mayor Pro Tem if the Mayor is absent, shall two hundred dollars ($200) receive one hundred twenty dollars ($120.00), as compensation for the services rendered to Town. (b) The compensation provided for above shall begin for all regular and special meetings after the regular election and installation of the Mayor and Trustees in 2006. (b) In addition to the compensation provided in Section 2-2-50(a) the Mayor shall receive $75 for other meetings that the Mayor is obligated to attend on behalf of the Town of Fraser or is asked to attend by the Board of Trustees. PART 2: SEVERABILITY. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is, for any reason, held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The Town of Fraser hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, clause or phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses and phrases thereof be declared invalid or unconstitutional. PART 3: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after passage, adoption and publication thereof as provided by law. This Ordinance shall be published by title only.
