Bixler for his 23 years of exemplary service to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District from September 14, 1998, to his retirement effective January 1, 2022. 41 Adoption of Resolution No. 3719 - Expressing the Board of Trustees’ appreciation to Steve T. Davis for his 31 years of exemplary service to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District from December 18, 1990, to his retirement effective January 1, 2022. 42 Adoption of Resolution No. 3720 - Expressing the Board of Trustees’ appreciation to Robert J. Santel for his 33 years of exemplary service to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District from June 6, 1988, to his retirement effective January 1, 2022. 43 Adoption of Resolution No. 3721 - Expressing the Board of Trustees’ appreciation to Debra K. (CMT), whereby Crawford Murphy & Tilly Inc. What does action accomplish?: Provides Green Infrastructure Grant for construction of green infrastructure to reduce combined sewer overflows, as required by Consent Decree. The purpose of this project is to reduce combined sewer overflows into the Mississippi River per the Long Term Control Plan. This project will reduce runoff volume with the installation of eight (8) bioretention basins. Total revised cost of the project is estimated at $340,000. On March 11, 2021, Ordinance No. 15617 encumbered $240,000. The City of St. Louis is requesting an additional $100,000 reimbursement for the cost of green infrastructure. The purpose of this project is to replace a section of 30-inch x 42- inch brick sewer that failed on the river side of the Mississippi Flood Protection System Flood Wall. Soil loss has occurred due to the pipe break, in close proximity to piling that support the flood walls. This project is scheduled to be completed in 30 days. District staff declared this project an emergency on December 22, 2021. The contractor, Fred M. Luth and Sons, Inc., has been selected per MSD Emergency Declaration Policy. The repair has started and is expected to be complete before January 20, 2022. It is essential this work get completed ahead of the Spring rains and to avoid potential flooding of this area.
