Home My Public Portal About09-7973 Road Runner Professional Svcs Sponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 09-7 9 7 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FROM Roadrunner Professional Svcs , IN RESPONSE TO RFP NO. 09-1016 - "LAWN MAINTENANCE, ALLEY CLEANING AND MEDIAN MAINTENANCE SERVICES"; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AN AGREEMENT WITH Roadrunner Professional Svcs , FOR LAWN MAINTENANCE, ALLEY CLEANING AND MEDIAN MAINTENANCE SERVICES, FOR FINAL APPROVAL BY THE CITY COMMISSION WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Opa-locka issued a Request for Proposals (RFP)for lawn maintenance,alley cleaning and median maintenance services for of the City of Opa- locka ("City"); and WHEREAS, RFP No. 09-1016 requested proposals from qualified firms to provide lawn maintenance, alley cleaning and median maintenance services for the City; and WHEREAS, the RFP review committee evaluated the proposals submitted to the City in response to RFP No. 09-1016 and selected McFamily ("McFamily"), as the most responsive proposal for lawn maintenance, alley cleaning and median maintenance services for the City; and WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting that the City Commission of the City of Opa- locka("City Commission") accept the proposal from Roadrunner Professional , and SVCS LLC further authorizes the City Manager to negotiate an agreement with Roadrunner Professional- Svcs LLC for lawn maintenance,alley cleaning and median maintenance services,for a period of two(2)years with the option to renew three(3)times for successive one(1)year periods,for final approval by the City Commission. Resolution No. 09-7973 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby accepts the proposal from Roadrunner Prof Svcs in response to RFP No. 09-1016 for lawn maintenance,alley LLC cleaning and median maintenance services and further authorizes the City Manager to negotiate an agreement with Roadrunner Professional for lawn maintenance, alley cleaning and Svcs LLC median maintenance services, for a period of two (2)years with the option to renew three (3)times for successive one (1) year periods, for final approval by the City Commission Section 3. The current contract expired September 30, 2009. The City Commission authorized the City Manager to advertise a request for proposals (RFP) for lawn maintenance, alley cleaning and median maintenance services. The RFP process allows for fair and open competition and ensures that the City will obtain the best cost for the services provided. The City received ten (10) applications, three (3) applications were deemed non- responsive. The balance of the applications, seven (7) were competitive. Points scored ranged from a low of 141 to a high of 224. (See attached tabulation form). The reviewers focused on four areas, experience, price, references and overview. Based on these factors, the top three applicants are deemed eligible and demonstrate the ability to fulfill the contract.
