RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING-8MART FUTURE PLANNING GRANT
FOR COl\lMUNITY VISIONING
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret dO.sires to apply for and obtain' a Smart Future
Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (hereinafter "NIDCA"),
Office of Smart Growth (hereinafter "NJOSG") to up to $50,000 to engage in a
c'bmmunity-wide comprehensive planning process.
WHEREAS, Carteret, a designated urban center, is eligible to apply, with .broad-based
support by the citY and other non'profits to facilitate using the State Planning
Commission Municipal Plan Endorsement Guidelines and supplemental Community
ViSIoning Standards.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED,
1. that the Borough of Carteret does hereby authorize the applic!ltion for such a
grant; and .
2. recognizes and accepts -that the Department may office a lesser or greater
amount and therefore, upon receipt of the loan agreement from the New
Jersey Department of Community Affairs, does further authorized the
executive of any such grant agreement; and also, upon receipt of the fully
executed agreement from the Department, does further authorized the
expenditure of funds pursuant to the terms of the agreement between the
Borough ofCarteret and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL YED, that the persons whose names, titles, and signahlres
appear below are authorized to sign the application, and that hey or their successors in
said titles are authorized to sign the agreement and any other documents necessary in
connection therewith:
