Thanks 4: 3r3 P Jonathan From: Downer Davis [mailto:dkdbus ©gmail.com] Sent: Friday, January 29, 2010 2:02 PM To: Jonathan Lynn Cc: Dianne Otto Subject: 1504 Jones Avenue This is the project that Anne J Miller (2ND AV 001502, 4 -0008 -08 -008) was speaking of to me when I was of the understanding she was referring to 1315 5th / 1316 6th. Joe Wilson and I met at this site at 1:00 pm today. Joe and I agreed on the following alternatives for stabilization of the R.O.W.: 1) Install a Co- Construction Exit 2) Rake smooth and grass the area in the R.O.W. In either case the site will need to meet the State's requirements. I have underlined the portion of Ds1 for clarity. REQUIREMENT FOR REGULATORY COMPLIANCE Mulch or temporary grassing shall be applied to all exposed areas within 14 days of disturbance. Mulch can be used as a singular erosion control device for up to six months, but it shall be applied at the appropriate depth, depending on the material used, anchored, and have a continuous 90% cover or greater of the soil surface. Maintenance shall be required to maintain appropriate depth and 90% cover. Temporary vegetation may be employed instead of mulch if the area will remain undisturbed for less than six months. If an area will remain undisturbed for greater than six months, permanent vegetative techniques shall be employed. Refer to Ds2 - Disturbed Area Stabilization (With Temporary Seeding), Ds3 - Disturbed Area Stabilization (With Permanent Seeding), and Ds4 - Disturbed Area Stabilization (With Sodding) . The silt fence on the north side of the lot was not trenched in and is therefore of little to no value at this time. i As it was after 1:00 pm , the road was swept to Joe's satisfaction and there were no personnel or vehicles onsite, I assume the crew had left for the day. Other than the area where the silt fence is improperly installed, the erosion concerns are long term and the rainfall predicted this weekend is not a major threat to the downstream drainage system. You advised the contact is Janet Edwards (cell phone 667 - 0049). Prior to my calling her, would it be better for your office to contact her first and forward my report to her. I am at the house and can print it and go around to her. I can also meet with her tomorrow or Monday morning prior to our meeting with Gerald.
