Home My Public Portal About09-7981 Emergency Repair to the Vacuum Truck Sponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 09-7981 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE EMERGENCY QUOTE FROM HYDRAULIC SALES AND SERVICE, INC., FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE VACUUM TRUCK FOR THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AT A COST OF TWELVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX DOLLARS AND EIGHTY CENTS ($12,676.80); FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND FUNDS IN THE SAME AMOUNT TO HYDRAULIC SALES AND SERVICE, INC., FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE VACUM TRUCK FOR THE OPA-LOCKA PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT 43-538467 WHEREAS,the City of Opa-locka ("City")Public Works Department is in immediate need of emergency repairs to the vacuum truck, which is indispensable to the City's sanitary operations; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department's vacuum truck was acquired in 1999 and has provided valuable service for the past ten years; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has determined that emergency repairs to the vacuum truck are necessary and the delay incident to giving an opportunity for competitive bidding would be detrimental to the interests of the City; and WHEREAS,Hydraulic Sales and Repair,Inc.is a local vendor which has serviced the City's vacuum truck for the past ten(10)years on the recommendation of the vehicle's manufacturer;and WHEREAS, Hydraulic Sales and Repair, Inc. has provided a quote for the repairs to the vacuum truck in the amount of Twelve Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Six Dollars and Eighty Cents ($12,676.80); and Resolution No. 0 9—7 9 81 WHEREAS,the City Manager is recommending that the City utilize the quote provided by Hydraulic Sales and Repair, Inc., for the emergency repairs to the vacuum truck; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to accept the quote from Hydraulic Sales and Repair,Inc.,for the emergency repairs to the vacuum truck for the City's Public Works Department. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby accepts the quote from Hydraulic Sales and Repair, Inc., and further authorizes the City Manager to make payment in the amount of Twelve Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Six Dollars and Eighty Cents ($12,676.80) to Hydraulic Sales and Repair,Inc.,for emergency repairs to the vacuum truck for the City's Public Works Department, payable from Account No. 43-538467. .Section 3. Financial Impact: The anticipated cost of repair is Twelve Thousand Six Hundred and Seventy Six Dollars and Eighty Cents (12,676.80) Implementation Time Line: Immediate from approval of this item. Recommendation(s): Staff recommends approval. Analysis: The City has established a working relationship with Hydraulic Sales over the past ten years. As the recommended service provider Hydraulic Sales has provided reliable,timely and efficient service.
