RESOLUTION NO. 10-7993
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO DONATE FIVE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) TO ASSIST
IN JANUARY 12, 2010, EARTHQUAKE
DISASTER IN HAITI; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2010, the island of Haiti experienced a
disastrous earthquake; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, desires
that the City of Opa-locka donate financial assistance in the amount of $5,000.00
in a relief effort to assist victims in their recovery from the earthquake disaster;
and
WHEREAS, the donation will be taken from account no. 25-525390 and
payable to the American Red Cross.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated
reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka hereby directs
and authorizes the City Manager to expend funds in an amount of Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) as a donation to Haiti's Earthquake

Disaster, payable to the American Red Cross, to be taken from account
no. 25-525390.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of January, 2010.
