AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Four Million Dollars
($4,000,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for combined and storm sewer
construction in Baden Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge, and Tille) –
Separation Sewers (12847) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into Contract No. 22134 with Unnerstall Contracting Company, LLC for combined and storm
sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said combined and storm sewer construction is Five Million
Eight Hundred Two Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-Eight Dollars ($5,802,678.00) and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Five Hundred Ninety-
Seven Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars ($597,322.00);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2023
(FY23) for a total appropriation amount of Six Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars
($6,400,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Four Million Dollars ($4,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for combined and storm sewer construction in
Baden Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge, and Tille) – Separation Sewers
(12847) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri; said contract being comprised of such terms and
conditions as have been approved by the Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 22134
with Unnerstall Contracting Company, LLC as the lowest responsible bidder for combined and
storm sewer construction in Baden Cityshed Mitigation Basins (Calvary, Frederick, Partridge, and
Tille) – Separation Sewers (12847) in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on
the 22nd day of December, 2021.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on February 10, 2022.
